West Ham Utd near Kudus signing with Ajax agreement

Premier League side West Ham United is on the brink of a significant coup as they finalize the acquisition of Ghana international Mohammed Kudus from Dutch giants AFC Ajax.

According to a report by The Athletic on Wednesday, the hammers finally reached terms on a transaction involving the talented attacker after having two earlier bids rebuffed.

The transfer is valued at an initial €41.5 million, with potential additional payments of approximately €3 million in performance-related bonuses.

Kudus has already committed to a five-year contract at the London Stadium, and the agreement includes a provision for an optional extension of a sixth year.

Also, the arrangement between the parties incorporates a 10% sell-on clause, which Ajax holds for the 23-year-old player.

The sought-after attacking midfielder has been a subject of interest for David Moyes and his team at West Ham for an extended period.

Kudus has expressed his aspiration to join the Premier League, leading him to decline a one-year contract extension with Ajax that would have extended his current agreement until 2024.

His impressive track record includes 18 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances across all competitions last season. He has already contributed with a goal and an assist in the opening two fixtures of the new 2023/24 Dutch Eredivisie.
