VIDEO: Kudus scores as Ajax roar back to beat Heracles in Eredivisie opener

Mohammed Kudus was one of the scorers as Ajax displayed their prowess by staging a remarkable comeback to defeat Heracles Almelo 4-1 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Saturday.

The wantaway Ghanaian star – who has been in the limelight due to transfer interest from English clubs Brighton, Chelsea, and Arsenal – played a pivotal role in the 2023/24 Eredivisie season-opening victory.

The match witnessed an early setback for Ajax as goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli left the field due to injury after 30 minutes.

Despite enjoying possession, Ajax’s defense faltered, allowing Mario Engels to put Heracles ahead.

Ajax’s determination paid off in added time before halftime, with Jakov Medic delivering a stunning debut goal to level the score.

In the second half, Kudus seized an opportunity created by a Heracles error, skillfully netting to grant Ajax a 2-1 lead. This potentially could be one of Kudus’s final moments with Ajax, as his impending transfer lingers in the air. Watch goal:

New captain Steven Bergwijn showcased his leadership, adding a third goal with a brilliant solo effort in the 85th minute.
