Nanabanyin Amoah at Kotoko: A journey of fate, ambition, and family pride

The left-back didn't see the move coming this soon.

Newly-signed Asante Kotoko defender Nanabanyin Amoah has expressed the surprise and thrill that accompanied his ‘sudden’ transfer to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants.

At 22 years old, the left-back is making waves as the second addition to the squad of returnee coach Prosper Narteh Ogum during this active transfer window for the forthcoming 2023/24 season.

His arrival from Cape Coast-based Venomous Vipers follows a mandatory medical and the successful negotiation of a three-year contract, firmly cementing his place among the Porcupine Warriors.

Nanabanyin Amoah joins Asante Kotoko’s ranks until 2026

Sharing his thoughts in his first interview at Kotoko, Amoah candidly reflected on the twists and turns of fate that have led him to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium outfit:

“Few weeks ago, I never thought of being here. However, I have always wanted this opportunity to represent the club.”

As Nanabayin Amoah enters this exciting phase of his career, Asante Kotoko anticipates the infusion of his skills and energy, eagerly anticipating the memorable moments he will contribute to the team.

He then pledged: “Now that I have it, I am going to give my all.

“[My goal is] to create a wonderful memory with my new teammates and make my family proud,” Amoah also declared.

Recognized for his speed and exceptional ability to deliver potent crosses, Nanabanyin Amoah, a dynamic full-back, brings his talents to Kotoko after a single season with Vipers. During this period, he played a pivotal role in their triumphant campaign for promotion to the Division One League.
