Essien’s goodwill message to Olympique Lyonnais new signing Ernest Nuamah

Ghana legend Michael Essien has sent a message of support to Olympique Lyonnais winger Ernest Nuamah ahead of his debut for the French top side.

The 19-year-old is the fourth Ghanaian to sign for Lyon after Abedi Pele, Micheal Essien and John Mensah.

Nuamah agreed a year loan deal with the club early August from RWD Molenbeek, a Belgian club owned by Eagle Football – the handlers of Lyon.

Now ahead of his expected debut against Paris Saint Germain, Essien, a Lyon legend for his immense success with the French giants, wished him well on Twitter.

“Finally he is for Lyon, Come on Olympique Lyonnais. Come on Ernest Nuamah. Good luck my little one.

The winger will wear the number 37 shirt and Essien hopes he replicates the quality previously displayed while at Denmark side Nordsjælland.

Essien was the most successful Ghanaian to wear the colours of Lyon, winning two league titles and the French Cup. He also won the Ligue One Player of the Year before moving to Chelsea in 2005.

Can Ernest Nuamah excite at Lyon and make history in French football?
