Ampem Darkoa Ladies will know their opponents for the upcoming West Africa Football Union (Wafu) Zone-B qualifying tournament for the 2023 Caf Women’s Champions League on Monday, July 3.
A live draw will take place in Abuja, the capital city of new hosts Nigeria. It has been scheduled to start at 11:00 GMT.
The draw determines the path to claiming the zone’s sole ticket to this year’s Caf Women’s Champions League slated for Cote d’Ivoire.
Back-to-back Ghana Women’s Premier League winners Ampem Darkoa, after their failed attempt to qualify for the second edition of the Caf Women’s Champions League last year, have another chance to get it right this time to represent a country that produced a finalist (Hasaacas Ladies) in the maiden edition of the continental women’s club tournament.
Seven (7) champions of the respective Wafu Zone-B Women’s leagues – Nigeria, Ghana, Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, and Cote d’Ivoire – will compete for glory.
Footy-Ghana.com understands that the 2023 Wafu Zone-B qualifying tournament will take place at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State. The date is August 18 to September 3, 2023.
Hosts Nigeria will be represented by new league champions Delta Queens.
