Ghana have been given a challenging path to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after being drawn to face hosts Morocco, Guinea and Congo in the group stages of the 2023 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
The tournament will take place from June 24 to July 8 in Rabat and Tangier which will host Group A and B matches respectively.
The draw, conducted in Rabat on Friday, produced a tournament-opening fixture between hosts Morocco and Guinea.
The Black Meteors will begin their campaign in Group A on Sunday, June 25, 2023 against Congo. The game will be played at Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat with kickoff at 15:00 GMT.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side will face the Moroccans in their second game on June 27, and then take on Guinea three days later to finish the group stage. Both games kick off at 20:00 GMT.
Group B features title holders Egypt, Mali, Gabon and Niger.
The first three nations will get their tickets to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
