King Faisal moved away from the relegation zone with a 2-0 win at home to Great Olympics in a 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 20 clash on Saturday.
The ‘Insha Allah’ Boys struck in each half to ensure their first win at their newly-adopted home ground – the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
In the 12th minute of the match, Baba Yahaya converted a penalty to give the hosts the lead.
Samuel Adom Antwi then made the game safe for Faisal by scoring in the 70th minute.
The 2-0 victory means King Faisal, now on 24 points in the league standings, are guaranteed a lift out of the drop zone – 16th – by the end of the match-day 20 round of games on Sunday. They are just two points away from Great Olympics.
King Faisal’s Baba Yahaya picked up the man-of-the-match award.
