Andre Ayew snubs Everton for Nottingham Forest – report

Ghana forward Andre Ayew is set to join Premier League side Nottingham Forest on a short-term deal.

The 33-year-old reportedly snubbed Everton to reunite with manager Steve Cooper, who he worked under during his days in the English Championship with Swansea City.

Ayew is a free agent after terminating his contract with Qatari champions Al-Sadd, making him available after the close of the January transfer window.

Everton were said to be keen on bringing him in to strengthen their attacking options after a winter window that saw them become the only Premier League side not to make a signing.

But the Black Stars captain has ignored the Toffees and reached a deal to sign with Forest for the remainder of the 2022/23 season – the next five months.

Andre Ayew is reported to have arrived in England and is set to undergo a mandatory medical.

Once the deal is ratified, Ayew will seal a return to the Premier League having previously featured in the competition with West Ham United and Swansea City. His Premier League numbers stand at 89 games, 21 goals and 12 assists.
