VIDEO: Agbesimah nets injury-time penalty as Bechem pip Medeama

Kofi Agbesimah’s stoppage-time penalty clinched Bechem United a 1-0 win against Medeama SC to open match-day 13 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League (GPL) on Saturday.

Both teams were tied at 17 points each heading into the game at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

A game destined for a goalless draw was spiced up by Clinton Duodu bending and turning his way into the Medeama box and being brought down by Daniel Opoku in the first minute of additional time.

Referee Eric Owusu Prempeh, who was very close to the incident, did not hesitate in pointing to the spot.

Captain Agbesimah stepped up for the penalty and expertly placed the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper Appiah Kubi.

The 1-0 victory sees Bechem United move to 20 points from 13 matches.

Bechem midfielder Kwadwo Seth picked up the man-of-the-match award.
