CHAN 2022: Vincentia Amédomé to referee Ethiopia vs Mozambique

She will become the second woman to officiate a match in the history of the tournament.

Togo’s Vincentia Amédomé will serve as the centre referee when Ethiopia and Mozambique face off in the second Group A opener at the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) on Saturday, January 14.

The 41-year-old – who has been on the Fifa list since 2015 – is the only female referee at the 7th edition of the tournament specialised for home-based players. She will become the second woman to referee a match in the history of the CHAN after Ethiopian Lydia Tafesse.

Amédomé will be supported on the lines by Cameroonian Carine Atezambong Fomo (Assistant 1) and Zambian Diana Chikotesha (Assistant 2).

Mehrez Melki from Tunisia will be the Fourth Official.

The Ethiopia-Mozambique game will kick off at 13:00 GMT at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki, Algiers.
