Karela United coach Bismark Kobby Mensah has admitted his team rode their luck in holding Hearts of Oak to a scoreless draw.
Neither side could break the other down when they met in a 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 6 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Aiyinase-based club succeeded in preventing the Phobians’ from recording a third straight win under new Serbian coach Slavko Matić.
But despite picking a point on the road, coach Kobby Mensah had few complaints about his team’s performance, suggesting the results could have easily gone the way of Hearts.
“Overall, it was a very good test for us.
“We met and played against a very good side. They saw more of the balls, to be honest.
“We defended well as well and we had the clearest chance. We pressed and created a few decent chances.
“We were lucky to have a draw because Hearts played very well,” he indicated.
Kobby Mensah added: “We didn’t play like how I wanted my team to play, we wanted to dominate play but I think Hearts of Oak did that better than us.”
Karela United play hosts to King Faisal next in a match-day 7 clash at Cosby Awuah Memorial Park on Wednesday.
