Aduana pip Legon Cities to knock Accra Lions off top spot

Aduana FC ended Accra Lions’ brief stay at the summit of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) with a 1-0 win at home to Legon Cities in a match-day 5 fixture on Sunday.

A 2-0 win over Nsotreman FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday had sent Lions top of the standings with 12 points.

That put some pressure on the two-time champions who were hosting an in-form side in the Royals at the Nana Agyeman Badu (NAB) I Stadium in Dormaa.

Aduana took the lead 32 minutes into the game through new signing and striker Isaac Mintah.

And that proved enough to earn coach Paa Kwasi Fabin’s unbeaten side their fourth win in 5 games so far.

The 1-0 victory lifts Aduana FC to 13 points, followed by Accra Lions (12) and defending champions Asante Kotoko (10) in third position.

Legon Cities sit down in 9th position with 7 points.
