Hearts of Oak coach Slavko Matić reveals style of play, wants quality football

Serbian coach Slavko Matic is optimistic of success in hie new Hearts of Oak job and has outlined the style of play for the team.

After signing a two-year deal, the gaffer is expected to improve the Phobians dwindling start in the 2022/23 football season.

Hearts lost to 1-0 Aduana in their betPawa league opener and drew against their rivals, Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko.

The Ghanaian giants were knocked out of the Caf Confederation Cup after the 3-1 aggregate loss to Mali side Real Bamako.

Slavko, in a chat with Hearts of Oak media, explained his hopes of changing the recent poor results.

“Football is a simple game for smart people. I grew up in a big club and I know the expectations are huge.”

“I like to play offensive football that doesn’t mean we will be on the attack and nobody cares about the defence.

“We should have scored more goals but this team scored only three goals in the CAF Cup and league.

“Big clubs must play attractive football, it’s not only about winning.

“Another important thing is the way and how you win the game.”

The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season is still on hold after three round of matches due to court injunction.
