2022/23 Caf CC: “This is a no-match” – Ocloo confident of Hearts overturning AS Real deficit

David Dickson Ocloo is confident Hearts of Oak can turn their 2022/23 Caf Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie around, despite witnessing his side lose 3-0 away to AS Real de Bamako in the first leg last weekend.

Facing the press after training on Wednesday, the acting head coach was asked if the continental campaign can be salvaged.

The result in Bamako has left the Phobians needing at least four unanswered goals in Sunday’s [October 16] return leg at the Accra Sports Stadium to advance to the group-stage playoffs.

Ocloo declared: “This is a no-match!.”

He went on: “I can confidently say we can turn this around.

“We played well [in the first leg]. We created a lot of chances but no clinical. We are going to right the wrongs. They are beatable.”

Hearts of Oak are one-time winners of the Caf Confederation Cup. The Ghanaian giants went past this stage last season before eventually losing on a 4-2 aggregate to Algeria’s JS Saoura.
