Black Maidens coach, Baba Nuhu understands Morocco are no pushovers but is confident his side will edge them for a ticket to the 2022 U-17 Fifa Women’s World Cup to be hosted in India.
Ghana battle the Atlas Lioncelles in the final round of the African qualifiers.
The first leg is scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, May 20. Kickoff is 15:00 GMT.
In a pre-match conference Thursday, coach Baba Nuhu stated:
“Morocco are no pushovers. We even played a friendly match with them before starting the qualifiers and they were not bad even though we won that game.
“There are no minnows in women’s football currently and for that reason, we are not leaving any stone unturned.
“Every team at this stage is a threat and a potential World Cup candidate because we have all gone through a series of matches to get here.
“I know it will not be easy but I believe my players will win.”
The Moroccans were on steroids in the last qualifying round, thrashing Niger 18-0 over two legs.

But coach Nuhu is not perturbed: “They have scored goals and so have we.
“So at the end of the day, we will see what will happen. But I am very confident that we will qualify,” he reacted.
“There has not been a time we have not qualified for the World Cup and this year will not be different.
“We are not scared by the number of goals they have scored. It is an aggregate scoreline game and I know my ladies,” he added.
The Black Maidens have made it to all the editions of the U-17 Women’s World Cup, finishing third at the 2012 edition hosted in Azerbaijan.
The 2022 edition of the U-17 Women’s World Cup is scheduled for October 11 to 30.
