Two first-half goals at Nduom Stadium saw Elmina Sharks settle for a 1-1 draw with Real Tamale United (RTU) on match-day 26 of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Looking destined for relegation, the hosts had to quickly restore some pride after going down as early as the 4th minute.
Visiting RTU capitalized on a defensive mishap to punish Sharks through a goal by striker Victor Aidoo who scored for the successive game. He fed on an assist from captain David Abagna.
Captain Isaac Donkor equalized for the hosts 10 minutes later.
Donkor had another chance to give his side the lead in the first half but he spurned it.
There was no further goal in the 75 minutes that ensued.
Despite earning a point on the road, RTU remain unmoved in the league standings, perching perilously above the relegation zone with 29 points. Bottom club Elmina Sharks also increase their tally to 20 points from 26 matches.
