Ignatius Osei-Fosu joins Dreams FC as head coach

Ignatius Kwame Osei-Fosu has been appointed the new head coach of Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC.

The 36-year-old Caf License A holder fills the void created by Serbian Vladislav Virić who mutually parted ways with the club some 72 days ago.

Virić left the club following a shock home loss to Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Dreams FC announced the arrival of the young trainer Wednesday, adding that Technical Director Karim Zito – who had taken interim charge – reverts to his original role.

From first working as a scout for Asante Kotoko under former coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, Osei-Fosu joined then Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals as an assistant coach in 2016. Some few months into the season, he got the role of a stop-gap coach before leaving the club later in September 2017.

The trained teacher went on to take up the job at Eleven Wonders and coached for almost two years. He secured a 12th-place finish with the Techiman-based club at the end of the 2020/21 league season. He managed to steer the side off relegation at the end of the 2020/21 league season.

Osei-Fosu quit Wonders to take over the reins at Medeama prior to the start of the ongoing 2021/22 season but became the second coaching casualty after just three matches at the helm due to poor results.

Dreams FC are currently in 13th position with 31 points with 9 games to the end of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
