2022 World Cup: Ghana to meet Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H

Ghana will come up against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in the group stage of the Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup later in November.

The Black Stars – who edged rivals Nigeria in the African playoffs for the 32-team tournament, learned their opponents during a live draw held in Doha on Friday.

Making a fourth out of five World Cup outings since making their debut in 2006, Ghana will be competing in Group H.

The action for the Black Stars at this Mundial kicks off on Thursday, November 24 against Portugal – a side they lost 2-0 to at their last World Cup outing – Brazil 2014 – also at the group stage. The match is scheduled for Stadium 974 in Doha at 16:00 GMT.

The second game is on Monday, November 28 against South Korea at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan. Kickoff is at 13:00 GMT.

Ghana will then wrap up the group stage fixtures at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah on Friday, December 2 against Uruguay in what will be the first meeting between the two countries since their controversial quarterfinal clash at the 2010 World Cup. Kickoff is at 15:00 GMT.

The 2022 Fifa World Cup is slated to kick-start on Monday, November 21 with hosts Qatar facing Ecuador in the opening match. The grand finale is scheduled for Sunday, December 18.
