WAFA fight back twice to split points with Olympics

Struggling WAFA SC came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw away to Great Olympics in their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 22 clash on Wednesday.

All four goals were recorded in the second half of the game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Making a rare start, striker Samuel Armah put the hosts ahead just four minutes into the second half.

But Michael Zuo equalised for the Academy Boys within four minutes after conceding.

Winger Sulley Ibrahim – who rejoined Olympics in the second transfer window – restored the lead in the 66th minute with his second goal of the campaign.

While Olympics thought they were protecting their 2-1 lead to finish, striker Marvin Owusu snatched an 84th minute leveller to ensure the teams shared the points.

The 2-2 draw keeps Olympics in fourth place on 36 points while WAFA find themselves just above the relegation zone in 15th with 22 points from 22 matches.
