Hearts explain Muntari absence for Aduana trip

Hearts of Oak say star midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari is not available for their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 20 trip to Aduana FC because he is carrying a knock.

The 37-year-old featured and scored in Wednesday’s 2-1 home win over WAFA.

Rumours emerged Friday that Muntari had been excused for the road trip to the next game at Nana Agyeman Badu I Stadium in Dormaa due to distance but the Phobians say it is rather on medical ground.

“The decision to exempt Sulley Muntari from the game against Aduana Stars is based on medical advice after he picked a knock in our previous game and not his personal decision as being speculated,” read a club update.

It will be the first time Muntari won’t be part of the Phobians squad since joining them in the second transfer window of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League

Sulley Muntari has started in Hearts of Oak’s last five games and scored a goal and recorded an assist.
