2022 WCQ: Ghana is ready for Nigeria – Otto Addo

Ghana coach, Otto Addo says his team is ready and eager to win against Nigeria in the 2022 Fifa World Cup playoffs.

The 46-year-old interim Black Stars trainer has been preparing his side for the two-legged tie that will decide the men’s senior national team fate on the world’s biggest international tournament.

According to Addo, they have had enough training drills and are ready to beat Nigeria in the first leg.

“I have had enough time with the team. The players are ready and in good shape,” he said in a pre-match press conference Thursday.

“We have done a lot in training and I hope that we have a good game tomorrow.”

Opinions on the match among Ghanaian football fans have been divergent; some are skeptical, others confident.

For Otto Addo, the Black Stars need luck as well.

“It is reasonable that people are skeptical. It is normal. But in all of the skepticism, there is a chance.

“Football is football. We can play good and lose and we can play bad and win too.

“Whatever the case, we have worked hard and the players are ready.”

Ghana faces Nigeria on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi at 19:30GMT and the return leg is on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
