Black Stars: We have a duty to make the World Cup dream a reality – Chris Hughton

Black Stars Technical Adviser, Chris Hughton says everyone associated with the team wants the opportunity to perform at the world stage again.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion boss made this known in an address to Ghanaians on Monday ahead of their 2022 Fifa World Cup African qualifiers playoff games against Nigeria.

The West African giants will square off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25 in the first leg before settling the tie four days later at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Hughton, who was named among a four-man technical team for the games, said it is their aim to secure the sole ticket at stake ahead of the Super Eagles.

“It is our aim to qualify for the Qatar World Cup and we all have a duty to make that dream a reality.

“Ghana has done it before, and we can guarantee you that everybody associated with the Black Stars wants this opportunity again to perform on a world stage,” he stated.

The Black Stars are expected to hold their first training session in Accra later today.
