Mark Addo chairs, Stephen Appiah and Sammy Kuffour make new 7-man Black Stars Management

Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo has been appointed the Chairman of a newly-constituted seven-man Management Committee for the Black Stars.

Following the Black Stars’ disastrous campaign at the just-ended 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Cameroon, the Committee which was led by experienced administrator George Amoakoh was dissolved.

And the then five-man Committee (which was reduced to four after the demise of Jones Alhassan Abu) has now been reconstituted with only Vice Chairman Akwasi Agyeman and ex-international Samuel Osei Kuffour retaining their spots.

Also included in the new set of seven are former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah, Colonel Kwadwo Damoah (Rtd.), maverick King Faisal bankroller Alhaji Karim Gruzah with business mogul Kwame Ofosu Bamfo (of Sikkens and Alisa Hotel fame) making a return after previously serving on the Black Stars Management Committee.

“The Management Committee has the ultimate responsibility of directing the activities of the team, ensuring it is well run and delivering the outcomes, monitoring the activities of the Technical Team, the Medical team, and the playing body to ensure they are keeping with the founding principles, objectives and values of the team,” read a GFA announcement on Wednesday.
