Ampem Darkoa clinched third with a 3-1 win over Prisons Ladies as the maiden Women’s Premier Super Cup ended on Sunday.
It was meeting number two between both sides at the 8-team competition – the first which ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw in Group A on the opening day.
Same number of goals were produced but this time there was a victor who won by a two-goal margin at the Madina Zurak Park.
It did not take long for Ampem Darkoa to set the tone for the match with striker Mary Amponsah heading home in 5 minutes.
Midfielder Mavis Owusu cushioned the lead in the 64th minute.
While the game looked set to end with the two goals, Amponsah emerged up to make it 3-0 with her second goal of the game, one which sees her top the scorers’ chart with 5 goals.
Abigail Tutuwaa made sure Prisons did not really goal empty-handed by reducing the deficit to 3-1 with a neat strike in stoppage time.
Grace Acheampong of Ampem Darkoa was adjudged woman-of-the-match.
