Sampson Agyapong hits stoppage-time winner as WAFA beat Medeama

WAFA SC picked their second win of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League with a late goal against Medeama SC at their Sogakope Park Sunday afternoon.

Substitute Sampson Agyapong scored the only goal in stoppages of the match-day 9 clash to hand the hosts the three points after three consecutive defeats.

Agyapong came on in the 85th minute in place of Godwin Agbevor and fired in the winner in the 4th minute of added time.

The 1-0 defeat is a first for the Yellow and Mauves in 7 games.

The Academy Boys temporarily move out of the relegation zone to 15th with 8 points, Hearts of Oak with an advantage to overtake them with a win against Accra Lions in a late game.

WAFA SC will play Asante Kotoko away on match-day 9 while 9th-placed Medeama SC host Aduana FC in Tarkwa.
