2021/22 Caf CC: No COVID headache as Hearts pass tests on arrival for JS Saoura clash

Hearts of Oak safely touched down Algerian capital Algiers in the early hours of Friday ahead of their 2021/22 Caf Confederation Cup playoffs second leg with JS Saoura.

The 38-member Phobian contingent made up of players, technical and management team underwent mandatory post-flight COVID-19 tests, and thankfully all returned negative results.

The team will now make their final trip to Béchar, the city which will host the match on Sunday, December 5.

Hearts began this trip from Accra Wednesday afternoon and made stops in Abidjan and then Istanbul before flying into Algiers.

The Ghanaian champions are expected to undergo at least one more COVID test before Sunday’s match.

Hearts go into the 2021/22 Caf Confederation Cup group stage ticket decider against JS Saoura with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg.

This return encounter is scheduled for the 20,000-capacity Stade 20 Août 1955. Kickoff is 16:45 GMT.
