Dennis Agyekum-Boateng: Ex-Kotoko star powers Wisbrim Academy to the top

Former Asante Kotoko player, Dennis Agyekum-Boateng is on the verge of breaking out as one of Ghana’s potential top coaches after coaching Tema-based side Wisbrim Academy to gain promotion to the Greater Accra Division Two League.

Dennis made headlines with Kotoko in the late ’90s and early 2000s under the  Herbert Mensah administration, alongside the likes of Shilla Alhassan, Godwin Ablordey, Adu Poku and others.

Wisbrim Academy at the weekend defeated Dasys Sporting Club 2-1 in the GARFA Middle League (Tema Metro) to gain the only qualification slot available to the Regional 2nd Division League.

Skipper Anthony Tetteh and Jeffery Djisam scored the goals to propel Wisbram, who had gone through the whole league undefeated to the top.

Wisbrim Academy topped Group B with 7 wins and a draw, same as Dasys who also topped group A.

The two sides faced off in the decider with coach Boateng digging deep on his experience to qualify Wisbrim who boasts of Kelvin Ampoful, Ernest Kantinka and a 16-year-old goalkeeping prodigy Hadina Bariu as well skipper  Anthony Tetteh with four goals, among others.

Wisbrim Academy were presented with a trophy and medals and are being mentioned to cause a sensation in the Upcoming  Greater Accra Division 2 League.

The team will tap on the qualities of Dennis, a Caf License B holder and his colleague technical team members to make it count.
