VIDEO: Kudus scores off bench as Ajax run riot away

Fit-again Ghana midfielder, Mohammed Kudus came off the bench to score in his first game of the 2021/22 Dutch Eredivisie as Ajax thumped Fortuna Sittard 5-0 away Tuesday evening.

After making a scoring return with the Ajax reserves team over the weekend, Kudus – who had been kept out with an ankle injury since the start of the campaign – made the substitutes list as the champions travelled to Offermans Joosten Stadion.

Kudus finally made his bow into the league season at the start of the second half when manager Erik ten Hag called on him to replace Steven Berghuis.

Ajax were already 3-0 up thanks to first-half goals from Berghuis, Noussair Mazraoui and captain Dusan Tadic

Kudus made it 4-0 on 72 minutes, tapping in a cross from Tadic.

Nicolas Tagliafico fed on another Tadic assist to score the fifth and final goal 5 minutes later.

Ajax continue their grip of top spot with five wins and a draw after six matches in the 2021/22 Dutch Eredivisie.
