Dr. Prosper Narteh’s first words as Kotoko coach

Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s spell as the next Asante Kotoko coach has begun with smiles, warm embraces,  and respect at the club’s training base at Adako Jachie.

The former Wafa gaffer replaces Portuguese Mariano Barreto who mutually terminated his agreement with the Porcupines Mid-September.

Ogum spoke with the club’s media ahead of his tenure, highlighting the team’s plan to improve as a football business entity and a giant of local and African football.

“I was very happy when I heard about Kotoko’s partnership with Southampton FC I’m ever ready to bring onboard my knowledge in youth development to Kotoko.

“I want to establish a youth system that every young player would aspire to be part of before I leave”.

The gaffer further stressed on his ambitions on youth football and winning laurels for the Porcupine Warriors.

“I want to be remembered as the coach who came and established a strong, sound youth team for Kotoko, a coach who came and changed the style of play of Kotoko and a coach who came and won trophies for Kotoko.”

Dr. Narteh Ogum joined the Reds alongside assistants David Ocloo and John Eduafo and will team up with another assistant Abdulai Gazale and goalkeeper’s trainer Najawu Issah.

Gazale and Issah worked under Mariano Barreto.
