Darmstadt forward Braydon Manu questions his Black Stars call-up

German-based forward  Braydon Manu says his debut Ghana call-up was one he never expected at this moment due to a lack of minutes at his club.

The SV Darmstadt 98 attacker was part of the Black Stars squad for the two Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.

Manu was an unused substitute in the two matches.

“I was surprised because at first, I thought it was fake. I didn’t believe it. First of all, I had a call from the technical director.

“I was happy but still I was like how? Because to be honest I had not played that much to say that they should call me,” Manu told Ahotor FM.

“I score goals. I assist. But, I thought to myself maybe they see something in me that other people have not seen. It was after that Charles Akonnor, the coach, called me…”

The 24-year-old, was on loan at Hallescher FC, despite joining Darmstadt from the same club in 2019.
