John Boye joins compatriot Samuel Owusu at Al-Fayha FC for one season

Free-agent Ghana defender John Boye has signed a season’s deal with Saudi Arabian topflight side Al-Fayha FC.

The experienced centre-back has been without a club since leaving French club FC Metz at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Boye, 34, completed an agreement to join Al-Fahya on this summer’s transfer deadline day.

A club announcement Tuesday night read:

“The Board of Directors of Al-Fayha Club, headed by Mr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Abanmi, completed the procedures for the transfer of the former international player, Ghanaian defense heart John Boye, with a professional contract for one season.

“Ghanaian John Boye represented many clubs during his professional career, most notably the French club Rennes, the Turkish club Sivasspor and the Ghanaian Heart of Lions club, and his last stop was with the French Metz Club.”

John Boye joins compatriot and Black Stars teammate Samuel Owusu as the second Ghanaian on the books of the Saudi club.
