Karela responded with an equalizer 6 minutes later through the league’s leading scorer Diawisie Taylor who took his tally to 17 goals.
But the lead would be restored in the 27th minute with striker Kweku Karikari converting a penalty after midfielder Prosper Ahiabu was brought down by defender Kamaradini Mamudu.
Liberty led 2-1 at the break.
Liberian midfielder Varney Sando came off the bench to level matters for Karela once more in the 70th minute.
In the 74th minute, left-back Evans Owusu grabbed the decisive goal from close range for Liberty to clinch all three points and stave off the relegation zone. They move one place up to 15th in the league standings.
