And versatile Caleb Amankwah – who enjoyed a rare start – crowned a battling performance with a direct and firm strike goalkeeper Essam failed to deal with the 108th minute.
Hearts – the Ghana Premier League champions – held on to the 1-0 lead for the final 12 minutes and keep their double dream alive.
The Phobians are through to the semifinals, joining AshantiGold who beat Kintampo Top Talent FC 4-2 earlier in the afternoon.
Hearts will face the winner of Sunday’s quarterfinals clash between Medeama SC and Attram de Visser Academy.
