Ghana boss, CK Akonnor has handed striker Joel Fameyeh a late call-up to the Black Stars.
The senior national team is currently in camp at Cape Coast preparing for two international friendly matches with Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire scheduled for June 8 and 12 respectively.
Fameyeh has been back home on holidays after a successful season with FC Orenburg where he scored 12 goals and made 5 assists in their quick promotion back to the Russian Premier League.
The late invitation is a first senior call-up for the 24-year-old who has previously featured for the home-based stars while he was a teenager and in the books of Ghanaian Division One side Asokwa Deportivo.
Joel Fameyeh’s last involvement with any Ghana national team was in 2019 when he played for the Black Meteors in the qualifiers to the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
