#GPLwk31: Gyamfi available for Hearts-Kotoko clash despite misconduct charge

The Disciplinary Committee’s next sitting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29.

Emmanuel Gyamfi will be available for selection when Asante Kotoko face Hearts of Oak in a crucial Ghana Premier League game on Sunday, June 27, 2021, despite facing charges of misconduct at the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee.

There were fears the pacey winger would be suspended for the game after he was dragged to the DC for deliberately stepping on the foot of Inter Allies midfielder Andy Okpe, an incident that was missed by match officials but captured by television images.

The player requested for personal hearing on the matter and with the Disciplinary Committee’s next convention date scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, no determination of the Gyamfi matter is expected before then, practically making him eligible to play against the Phobians in Accra.

Gyamfi has been a key player for the Kumasi-based club in the second round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League under Portuguese tactician Mariano Barreto, scoring four goals and assisting on four others.

Hearts of Oak and Kotoko are level on points at the top of the league with 5 games to the end of the season.

Kotoko host Karela United on Wednesday and Hearts of Oak play Legon Cities on Thursday before the sworn-rivals clash on Sunday.
