Friendly: Zigi, Andre and Partey in Ghana XI vs Cote d’Ivoire

Andre Ayew returns to captain Ghana’s starting line-up to face Cote d’Ivoire in an international friendly at Cape Coast Sports Stadium this evening.

The 31-year-old came on late to play a bit-part role when the Black Stars lost 1-0 away to Morocco earlier this week.

Head coach CK Akonnor has given a respite to goalkeeper Razak Abalora who came under the cosh for the goal conceded against the Atlas Lions, replacing him with St. Gallen shot-stopper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

It is the first start for Zigi since the international friendly defeat to Mali in October last year.

Andy Yiadom and Baba Rahman take up the full-back slots while Daniel Amartey and Alexander Djiku form the centre-back pairing.

Arsenal star and deputy captain Thomas Partey – who was excused from the last game – also starts in a midfield triangle with Baba Iddrisu and Mohammed.

Jordan Ayew leads the frontline and will be flanked by skipper Andre and Emmanuel Gyasi.

The Ghana-Cote d’Ivoire friendly kicks off at 17:00 GMT.
