5-0! Berekum Chelsea tear apart King Faisal

King Faisal slumped to their third consecutive defeat in surprising fashion by losing 5-0 to Berekum Chelsea at Golden City Park on Sunday.

The Bibires, coming from a 2-0 loss to Hearts of Oak, made an emphatic statement on their intent to finish in the top six of the log in this Ghana Premier League match-day 28 fixture.

Abdul Basit scored in each half while Bright Amponsah, Kofi Owusu and Paul Atta Agyei also found the net.

Right from kickoff, Berekum Chelsea were dominant in midfield. They had to wait till the 29th minute when skipper Basit opened the scores.

Before half time, it was 3! Amponsah scored in the 35th and two minutes before halftime, Faisal conceded again through Owusu’s effort.

In the second half, the onslaught continued, but late in the game. Faisal held on till the 67th minute before Paul Attah Agyei increased the tally to 4-0.

It got disheartening for Faisal fans when in the 83rd minute, Basit scored to round the victory up for Berekum Chelsea.

So at full time, Faisal players looked dejected and the technical team dazed but the scoreline, 5-0, was the joy of Bibires fans who had criticized their team’s performance against Hearts.

Up next for King Faisal, who are now 17th, will be Great Olympics at Techiman. Berekum Chelsea travel to Bechem United on match-day 29 as well.
