Legon Cities dispatch Aduana, steer further from relegation trouble

Legon Cities scraped further away from the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over Aduana FC on match-day 26 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

The Royals scored in each half without reply at the Accra Sports Stadium as they built on their boardroom points boost during the week.

Winger Jonah Attuquaye netted the opener on 14 minutes when he fed on an incisive pass from Matthew Anim Cudjoe and hit past onrushing Aduana goalkeeper Massawudu Inusah.

Legon Cities registered their second goal via a spot-kick which centre-back Joseph Adjei expertly converted in the 57th minute.

Aduana found it difficult to create space and meaningful chances to get themselves back in the game.

The 2-0 win shoots Legon Cities into 11th position with 32 points.

Aduana, who suffered their ninth defeat in 26 matches, now stand 8th with 39 points in the league table.
