Karela United earned themselves a point with a 1-1 draw away to Elmina Sharks at Nduom Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The two sides created opportunities to open the scoring in an end-to-end first half of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match-day 24 fixture.
And it was the visiting ‘Pride and Passion’ side – aiming to bounce back in the title – who struck first a minute before the half-hour.
Midfielder Umar Basiru picked out Reindolf Osei Antwi with a free-kick and the latter made the chance count with a headed finish. 1-0
Sharks responded but had to fight more until striker Benjamin Bernard Boateng popped up to level the scores in the 68th minute – a goal which went on to salvage them a share of the spoils.
The 1-1 stalemate means Karela United and Elmina Sharks keep their 5th and 12th positions respectively in the league standings after 24 matches.
