#GPLwk24: Hearts beat Bechem United to move second

Hearts of Oak won 1-0 against Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to move second in the standings after match-day 24 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians claimed the victory through Ibrahim Salifu who scored in the 74th minute to grant his side their second consecutive win after losing to Dreams on match-day 22.

Samuel Boadu’s charges endured a barren first half against the Hunters who despite threatening a few times upfront, were stronger in defence duties.

But in the second half, Hearts set the mood for the match-winner with dominance in the midfield which, in turn, maximized their confidence in attack.

The pressure from the away side, high up the pitch resulted in Salifu’s goal in the 75th minute.

Ibrahim raced into Bechem area, beat everyone on the run and fired the ball into the net with his weaker foot.

Hearts, after scoring,  managed the game to claim victory at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park and Ibrahim Salifu claimed the Nasco MVP award.

Up next for Hearts is Elmina Sharks at the Accra Stadium and Bechem will travel to Techiman for King Faisal.
