The Crabs went into the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match-day 26 fixture a wounded and relegation-threatened side after a boardroom decision during the week has them declared losers against Legon Cities with extra three points docked from their accumulated tally.

Dwarfs went behind as early as the 10th minute when Michael Nii Laryea fired home a free-kick for the Scientific Soccer boys.

11 minutes later, winger Seidu Abubakar equalized for the hosts.

Liberty were forced into a substitution early in the second half after goalkeeper Kofi Baah came off worse in a collision with a Dwarfs attacker.

Enter Ganiwu Shaibu.

The game travelled to the 90th minute when the Liberty substitute keeper allowed Enoch Afram who had just come off the bench for Dwarfs to steal the ball and plant home the game winner in injury time.

Confusion erupted as Liberty, led by Shaibu, challenged the legitimacy of the goal. The goalkeeper eventually received a red card from referee Andrew Awurisa with other players and officials from the visitors’ bench also receiving cautions.

Ebusua Dwarfs went on to win 2-1 and quickly move up from 17th to just above thr relegation zome with 28 points from 26 matches. Liberty now take the 17th spot.
