Berekum Chelsea piled fresh misery on AshantiGold with a 3-1 victory at Golden City Park on match-day 24 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The Bibires started the game in strong fashion to return to winning ways after losing 1-0 to Aduana Stars last Sunday.
Captain Abdul Basit led by example by putting Berekum Chelsea ahead in the 35th minute and held on to end the first half.
Injury to Bright Amponsah after the break led to the introduction of Paul Attah Agyei who went on to score and double the lead in the 56th minute with his first touch.
AshantiGold winger Yaw Annor pulled one back, placing his side back in the clash in the 64th minute.
But the hosts extended their grip on the game when Stephen Amankona scored from the spot in the 67th minute to make it 3-1.
AshantiGold lie 10th now on the league log and have gone three games without a win. The Obuasi-based outfit will play Great Olympics in their next fixture. Berekum Chelsea visit Inter Allies as well.
