‘Arsenal are going to see a lot from Partey very soon,’ declares Andre Ayew

Andre Ayew has backed compatriot Thomas Partey to become a massive player for Arsenal soon.

The Premier League giants’ capture of the Ghana midfielder from Atletico Madrid shocked many as the Gunners triggered his release clause on the final day of the summer transfer window.

But largely due to injuries, Partey is yet to make the kind of impact fans were expecting and has not been able to stop Arsenal’s slide in the Premier League standings.

Arsenal are still banking on the 27-year-old coming good next season and Ayew, his international teammate, is also clear that Partey will blossom once he is over his injury problems.

“I think Thomas… they’re going to see a lot from him very soon.

“I know his quality very well and he’s going to make it big.

“As soon as he’s going to get free with his injuries and get to his full speed, he’s going to be massive,” the Swansea City forward told The Athletic.

Thomas Partey – who is a vice-captain to Andre Ayew at the Ghana national team – has made just 16 starts in the Premier League and a combined 34 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season.
