Thumped in Obuasi again – AshantiGold beat Bechem 4-0

In their second visit to the Len Clay Stadium in the ongoing 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL), Bechem United were at the receiving end of a thumping 4-0 defeat.

On Sunday, it was AshantiGold who, just like Asante Kotoko did at the same grounds 18 days ago, took turns to hammer the Hunters in their match-day 21 fixture.

Yaw Annor open the scoring after 11 minutes.

The winger went on to draw a penalty from Bechem’s Charles Amponsah.

Miners captain Amos Addai stepped up and converted from the spot in the 15th minute.

AshantiGold went into the break with a 3-0 lead after Seth Osei brilliantly dribbled goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu before slotting home in the 45th minute.

Midfielder David Abagna, after coming on on the hour mark, added the fourth goal for coach Romain Folz’s men six minutes from time.

The emphatic victory sees AshantiGold move level on points – 30 – with Bechem United but place above the Hunters in 7th place due to superior goal difference.
