We need time! Kosta Papic urges patience from Phobian faithful

Hearts of Oak coach, Kosta Papic has called for patience among supporters as he scrambles for solutions to their inconsistent run in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The Phobians put up a strong showing in the opening six games (4W-1D-1L) of the Serban’s reign after coming in for Edward Odoom in their fourth match of the campaign.

However, it’s all fallen a little flat in recent weeks. Their winless league run stretched to four matches after fighting back to draw 1-1 with Legon Cities last Sunday.

Papic believes the recent results are in the past and the focus is now on turning things around.

“It’s not necessary to criticize players now and apportion blame. It’s not important what has happened; what’s important is what will happen,” he told Happy FM.

“We know that we can come back from this. But we must work; physically, psychologically, we must work.

“But we need time to be able to get back to playing the way we want. Nothing good comes overnight. We need time,” Papic added.

Hearts of Oak were to play arch-rivals Asante Kotoko next in the GPL but the game has been rescheduled to the latter’s Caf Confederation Cup assignment on Valentine’s day.

The Phobians – who are ninth in the standings on 17 points – have their focus now on their match-day 15 home clash with Ebusua Dwarfs.
