Aduana were denied a perfect goal against Liberty – Fabin

Aduana FC coach Paa Kwesi Fabin believes the Ogya Boys were denied a legitimate goal in their barren stalemate with Liberty Professionals on Wednesday.

The experienced trainer was angered by the failure of referee Musah Mubarik to award them a late goal for a deflected header in stoppage time which came back off the underside of the bar, insisting the ball crossed the line.

Aduana, the titleholders, ended up taking the spoils as no goal was produced in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match-day 12 encounter at Carl Reindorf Park.

“We did our best. We scored a perfect goal; the ball hit the net before it came out and the referee was right at the spot but he was looking at the linesman. Amazing!,” Fabin lamented in a pitchside interview.

“Well, I must say it was an average performance but getting to the end, we were not finding our rhythm and then we got a perfect goal but strangely the referee didn’t whistle for it. I’m shocked,” he added.

Aduana, now sixth on the league log, return to the Nana Agyeman Badu (NAB) I Stadium to host WAFA in a match-day 13 clash on Sunday, February 7.
