Two penalty goals as Bechem United and Dreams settle for draw

Bechem United and Dreams FC settled for a 1-1 draw on match-day nine of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Sunday.

At the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, the Hunters were hoping to return to winning ways after drawing 1-1 against King Faisal and losing 6-1 to Hearts of Oak.

Moro Salifu converted a 10th-minute penalty to give the home side the lead and Issah Ibrahim performed similar duty for Dreams with the game in its closing moments.

Dreams were forced to make an early change following an injury to Emmanuel Ocran, who was replaced by Issah Ibrahim.

Bechem looked impressive in defence and midfield after taking the lead and thus maintained the scores till halftime.

In the second half, the Believers looked improved in the early stages.

But they had to make a change due to injury; Micheal Agbekpornu made way for Philimon Baffour after picking a knock.

Later, Percious Boah was also introduced as they searched for the leveller.

With the game entering its final minutes, Dreams FC won a penalty in the 73rd minute and it was perfectly converted by Issah Ibrahim.

The away side then held on despite the attacking threats from Bechem United to get back in the lead.

On match-day ten, Dreams will play Liberty Professionals at Dawu while Bechem play guests to Elmina Sharks.

The Hunters are third on the league standings while Dreams hold 14th position.
