Medeama beat Inter Allies with Abass brace

The striker condemned his former club to defeat.

Abass Mohammed found the net twice for Medeama to claim a 2-1 victory over Inter Allies at Akoon Park on Sunday.

The Yellow and Mauves were the better side from the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier league match-day 10 clash but up front, they struggled to take the lead.

Allies goalkeeper Gideon Ahenkorah was effective in the early stages as he denied Agyenim Boateng from breaking the deadlock in the 8th minute.

The visitors held on to the goalless scoreline till half time.

In the second half, Medeama looked direct from the blast of the whistle.

Abass Mohammed, leading the lines for the home side, grabbed the lead in the 51st minute.

The former Allies frontman struck again in the 64th minute to extend the margin.

Nafiu Sulemana halved the deficit in the 69th minute, giving coach Dani Mujkanovic some comeback hope.

But Medeama held on to return to winning ways after drawing AshantiGold last Sunday.

The defeat is Inter Allies’ third in a row. In their last seven games, they have now lost six times.

They play Legon Cities at home on match-day eleven in hopes of leaving the relegation zones.

Medeama will also travel to Karela United.
