Ghana’s Majeed Ashimeru could be on his way to Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old central midfielder has been limited to just 13 appearances in all competitions for Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg in the ongoing 2020/21 season.
Speaking on Citi TV, Ashimeru – who has already enjoyed three loan spells at Austria Lustenau, Wolfsberger AC and FC St. Gallen since joining Red Bull from WAFA SC in 2017 – hinted there are talks to have him farmed out once more for the remainder of the season.
“Yes, my agent is working on it [a loan move to Anderlecht], but the deal has not been completed yet. In the next few days, we will know what the next move is.
“Right now, I am with my family so hopefully soon, I will know if I am going or not,” he stated.
In nine appearances in the 2020/21 Austrian Bundesliga, Majeed Ashimeru has so far provided five assists.
