I don’t know Ghana’s football identity yet – GFA Technical Director

Ghana Football Association (GFA) technical director, Bernhard Lippert says he needs time to identify Ghana’s football identity.

The German has been in charge since October when he was appointed as a replacement for veteran Ghanaian coach Oti Akenteng, but he is yet to properly take charge and fully run the directorate.

Speaking to Asempa FM, the football brain admitted finding it difficult to know the football identity of the West African nation but adds it will be known soon.

“First of all, you have to make an assessment to see where we are, It is not easy. You have to find the identity of football in Ghana, what will make football strong here.

“It is difficult to identify because most of the players go to Europe and they completely get thought a different kind of football so I have to make an assessment first and have to find out the identity.

“I don’t know the identity of your country. When I find it out, I will see it but for sure, we need some changes.”

Bernhard Lippert took up the GFA Technical Director job in October 2020.
